Of course, the menstrual blood scene was done 30 years ago in Carrie, so it's not that daring.
I don't care much for the sordid tales about what they did in their private lives. I like the band because of their music, and I also find the members to be very appealing, real people who are actually much nicer and more intelligent than you would expect from their bad girl images. I hope this film celebrates the music and not the exploitation. Otherwise, they should have brought Fowley in to produce.

I remember the very long and indepth story Crawdaddy magazine did on The Runaways, though it's been years since it was 'borrowed' and never returned to me. One thing that sticks out in my memory is Sandy being extremely frustrated that people were seeing their sexuality rather than their musical talent. For those who have not seen this magazine, the reporter for that story 'happened to be present' when the girls were ordering new costumes and was able to 'overhear' the their measurements. He missed Sandy's bust size, so he asked her to repeated it. She got extremely upset and asked, 'What does this have to do with music!' I would imagine she would feel the same way about this notorious bathroom scene. I think I'll wait for Redbox.

I agree with fallspeed and isitdayornight, this movie should be about these girls living their dream. It should be a celebration of what they accomplished, although it wasn't always fun and games, they did persevere. If one feels the need to see an actress portraying an underage girl having sex with herself , go rent a porno. If this scene is in the movie, it is a shame that they would sink to that level. Since this movie isn't factual according to Joan ,why isn't her character the one masturbating?.. I don't remember seeing the Beatles masturbating in a "Hard Days Nigh"t or Val Kilmer( portraying Jim Morrison) masturbating in "The Doors"

That was true- Sandy was always adamant about that. Fallspeed-here, here. BUT, this has to be a tale about what not to do, or what not to let your kids do. If we didn't have the warnings, then all this would be fit for is sat night on VH1 and another episode of where are they now. (totally siding here)
Sorry for the spelling, I have another freaking migraine.

Fisting? haha....always am amazed that girls would get into that...thought that was only a gay male sub-culture thing, although I have NO interest in it. Hmmm could see Joan maybe..but Cherie?
As far as the masturbastion scene, I did think of Sandy's poor mother but if all actors and actresses were going to only make movies their mothers would be comfortable with we would probably only have rated G movies.
I would love to see the film with other fans but I don't know any outside the internet. It would be nice to know where everyone is located on all these boards, maybe listing the city next to the persons name. I'm here in Indianapolis.....anyone close?

The whole Rick Springfield thing interests me because when The 3 Runaways, Cherie, Sandy & Vicki were interviewed on VH1 a few years back, Cherie loved teasing with mentioning it would be in her book. I know he had a thing for the young girls. Mackenzie Phillips said he was also trying to hook up with Valerie Bertinelli when she was only 15. It didn;t happen. So anyway, Cherie seemed proud to mention it on VH1 and Steve Jones' radio show.

Venezuela, kinda close uh? haha joking..
I don't think that here in this country knows anything about The Runaways just a few people know who is Joan but not her music just ''I Love Rock n Roll'' and that's the only song they know.
and my friends say they're ''fans'' of the band, and it's a lie just because Kristen and Dakota are in the film. But I hope that those kids after watch the movie, I hope that they have their brainwashed and start to know what is real music and what is real rock n roll. I feel like a old person saying that, haha but yeah I'm too young and I know a lot of music that I'm suposed to for my age.
