After watching footage of the Miami show Acey Slade looks to fit right IN so the left side of the stage is something to look at again. I must admit , I'm ashamed of the audience in Miami. Come on people this ain't church. They just stand there, maybe clap their hands once or twice , maybe a fist pump once or twice please....What happen to rocking out and having a good time? In the videos below I see at least 5 people I know of from the boards and I have to give credit to Jeanne and the guy with the baseball cap who are having a good time and rocking. Thats what it's about. The others are in la la land. I hate boring crowds that just stand or sit there. I was shocked at the Atlanta show this past august when my section had some hard core punk rockers and totally rocked it and was singing every lyric and even broke out in a ska dance. I use to go to Joan shows where mosh pits would break out and crowd surfing back in the 80's and 90's. Every once in awhile you may get a crowd like that. I love those crowds cause people don't give a sh*t and have a good time. Most of the audience today just stand there and if you bump them they wanna start a fight. All i'm saying is that Joan Jett likes her audience to have a good time and participate it's what gets her off and we get off on her. The vibe , the energy the sweatiness of it all. Thats ROCK N ROLL and not a sunday morning of people standing or sitting staring like your at church and can't wait to get back home. AMEN ? Can I get a F*CK-N-ROLL ? XOXO, The first row was Kenny's family and they were having fun but not standing. The second row other than the stripper sitting in the chair in front of me were definately rocking out. I was exausted and not as crazy as I usually am at a Joan show, I worked all day doing hair and then I rushed to the show and got caught in traffic. My friend sitting next to me has MS so she can't jump around or she would. I can confirm that I was on the guest list and I was dragging Hal everywhere with me. I didn't hear anyone use your name to get backstage but then again I was backstage from the minute the band exited the stage. When I arrived I parked a few cars over from Kenny in the backstage area. I entered through the back so I wasn't near the gate to hear who dropped what name. Yes, your name was mentioned Donnie, by your friend T. Kenny intoduced us when I got there. No one said anything derogatory about you. The only derogatory words were about the psycho bitch from Backlash/Backstab. Joan and Kenny were not a part of that conversation. It was so dark outside the buses in the area that was set up for friends and family that I didn't even notice Joan standing behind me, lol. It wasn't until she was standing right next to me that I realized it was her, she stood there waiting for me to say something but it took my eyes a few minutes to adjust to the dark. Quite a few people tried to get in with me but Ed knew who was with me. The venue was bizarre to say the least. The crowd was not big in front of the stage, there were only 100 seats in that area and we couldn't get close to the stage at all, believe me I tried. Other than the stripper and Kenny's family the crowd around me was dancing and having a good time. ps Have a fabulous holiday you guys!

Don't know bout you guys but I'm loving Acey, I started to watch the videos and he's moving all around and I loving that. He seems to fit right in the band like Donnie wrote. And he brings like a cool vibe to the band too imo

Is it just me or is someone noticably extending the word roll, every time? Maybe the new bass player?

Donnie, that is a huge music festival, there are hundreds of thousands of people. That would be cool here if it were possible, the warped tour was huge and the crowd looked more like this. The Miami venue was a s***hole, they seperated 100 seats in the stage front and they could've fit 200, the place only held 2,000. I've been to 4 other shows in the past 2 years in FL and they were a lot better crowd wise, this time it was because of the s***ty venue, not so much the crowds fault. They weren't letting people close to the stage. Kenny's family was in the first row and when I rushed the stage I ended up in front of his niece who was sitting down and didn't care to stand. Other family members were in the front and they were also sitting. We were asked to please not block their view. Believe me we tried but no one wants to be disrespectful to family.

Regardless of the venue it is still a Joan Jett concert. Bad Venue or not the crowd doesn't have to act like they are in church. I understand the family sitting there in the front row but whats the excuse of the rest of the crowd ? Yeah, that would be totally disrespectful to block their view but it doesn't mean the audience can't party and rock out in their own seating area. I dislike Jettheads that think they have to get to the venue 15 hours before the show and park themselves right dead smack in the middle of Joan. That sounds stalkerish to me. I mean give the new fans a chance to do that and get up close and be in the front row that has never seen her before. I always let people in front of me if they have never been to a Joan show. I want them to experience the same feeling I got when I was front row. I am happy to be with in the first 20 rows and not always up front. I know Joan gets tired of the same old Jettheads that have to own the front row at a show. It's very disrespectful of others. And then the people in the front and second row wanna fight because they been there for 15 hours hogging the front of the stage. Please, That is totally Stalkerish & Creepy in my book. I understand if it's your first time to get there early and get a good spot close to the stage but when the same old Jettheads time after time after time do this Joan looks away from them and looks and points and gives the people behind them that eye lock. As far as the Audience in Australia yes it is a festival but they totally were having a goodtime at midnight and ringing in the new year with Joan. They make A REAL JOAN JETT CROWD look like ''D@MN FOOL'S '' for acting like they can't rock out and have a good time at A JOAN JETT SHOW !!!

Speaking of Nursing Home Joan get's booked in some of the strangest places/venues. In 1998 , Joan played next door to a nursing home and all these 80 , 90 year old ladies on walkers with their breeding machines and oxygen tanks where sitting front row actually the first 4-5 rows and they were having a good ole time in their wheelchairs and seats. I stood like 20 rows back cause of course I wanted to stand and rock out. It was a strange show but they enjoyed Joan none the less. I was pissed at the time but now that I look back it made those elderly ladies enjoy life one last time. I'm just glad Joan didn't give them a heart attack when she performed ''Fetish'' The XXX Version. I also saw Joan play at a barn once and you had to take all these dirt roads to even get there. Joan said do people even live here ? It was in the middle of nowhere. There wasn't a big crowd maybe 100 people but it was an awesome show. I have been lucky to see Joan perform in front of 20,000 people and as little as 25 people so I have had my share of intimate shows and being front row. I don't like being dead center cause Joan walks to the left and right of the stage and in the middle she has her mic and monitors so it's not the best spot. I know Cherie will take care of you at a show if there is one close to you she gave you her word so hopefully there will be a show close to you in 2011.

I bet my little redneck town is way smaller than yours. They just passed the law to serve alcohol cause it's always been a dry county. There is no venue or nothing here for a concert so I have to to drive 4 hours to Atlanta. I miss Atlanta , I lived there for 15 years and 20 years in Cleveland , Ohio my hometown so this is really different for me. Maybe , one day I will get the hell outta here.
