I remember being a 15 year old kid and had been a Jett fan for a few months when I walked into BEST (not Best Buy) and saw THE RUNAWAYS in the cut-out bin for like $3.99. After hearing and reading all the stories about Joan Jett since she had just become a star, I had to hear what came before. I was blown away. I still can listen to the first album and get that innocent wide-eyed feeling of discovering something new. Each song had a story, I imagined the girls in the studio, on tour, how they interacted as a band who formed around the same age I was when I discovered them. Over the years, hearing different stories from everyone, finding out the first album really wasn't an all-girl-band since a member of Blondie actually played bass on it, hearing how things fell apart, the sniping by various band members about one another, EDGEPLAY, Cherie's book (1st version)...and on and on, sorta ruined the mstique for me.

I have to agree with you crave . after ILRNR was a hit and crimson i wanted to know more about joan jettt and started finding out about the runaways . I do remember BEST record stores as well as Peaches ( the famous joan shirt from cleveland ) and Record Connection and the IMPORT only record store in cleveland called Shattered Records on Lorain Ave where I got alot of my Imports . It was many years later that I found out that there were other members ( guys ) playing on the runaways albums which is suppost to be a ALL GIRL band and I was disappointed but none the less I still love the runaways music ....
speaking of BEST crave - I still have I Love RNR & BAD REP LP'S ( still sealed ) from BEST ......
I have lots of extra copies of the same albums from The Runaways & Joan .....
I need to start selling this stuff .

What do you want me to say...I'm one of the crazy fans she is referring to, LOL.
Loosely translated interviews with all the people in the band means she talked to Joan and Kenny.
