So I guess "The Runaways" is the official title of this movie, that's what has been used the most lately. Wasn't it first to be called Neon Angles or even Cherry Bomb, due to the release of a comic book move also called The Runaways?
I was really hoping the Song NAOTRTR would be in the movie. But I was thinking with the rift between Joan and Jackie that any song that was co-written with Jackie would not be in the film or soundtrack or Blackheart would have to pay Jackie for that...probably not going to happen now.
I think Neon Angles and Getting Hot (both Lita and Jackie pinned songs) are two of the fastest Runways songs and really show off Lita's Guitar Skills more that any other songs. With the exception of Where the Boys are, which thankfully sound like it will be in the film.

It was called both, and I heard it was also called I love Rock and Roll at one point. There are usually several working titles. I'm sure by now there is a screener out there for the companies looking to distribute under yet another name, so that it does not get leaked. Think a title like: Jeffery singer and the mulberry bush.* That's how films are able to be tossed around H'wood without people knowing what it is. You can have two films with the same name-Production would want to capitalize on the band name.
*I made that name up guys

I think it should be called "These Bitches Suck" in a nod to Cream Magazine. I love that title.

Laguntic - you were wrong for calling The Runaways ''Bitches'' & saying they ''Suck'' .
I hope the mods edit your comment cause that was down right mean and uncalled for.
If, you think The Runaways are ''Bitches & Suck'' then you have no reason for being on The Runaways board.
I know its from Creem magazine but you said you nod to say yes you agree.
We will not allow you told talk that way about the girls.
Poof Be Gone !

No, really, chill. It's a joke. It's in reference to the girls' "favorite" review of themselves in Creem magazine. And "a nod to" doesn't mean you agree. "A nod to" means in reference to. There will be a test later.

Ummmm, I get it. Most of the old time fans get it.
Chill, it's funny, if you understand American humor.
And, No, I'm not pulling it. Not yet anyway.

That quote was from hateful reviewer Rick Johnson, now dead. The Runaways went to Creem's offices looking for him. He wrote from home, so they wrote him the following: "Since you seem to know that girls are sissies, come see us sometime and we'll kick your fu*kin' ass in". Joan wrote that in a letter to the editor "These bitches..." Was in the April, '77 issue, and Joan's letter in the May.

in light of Joan's protestations...it should be called "Not necessarily, The Runaways" or "is it fact or fiction?" :-)

Wow, I completely missed this bit of animosity lobbed my way. Yeah, of course it's a joke. I think it's Jackie in Edgeplay who says "These Bitches Suck" was her favorite interview/review. I always thought it would be a great name for a Runaways cover band. So, li'l kneejerk, chill out, baby. It's an inside joke. Maybe if you weren't such a lazy fan, you'd grok this s***. But by all means, banish me if you must. I'm ready for my punishment.

Jackie claims (on her Runaways story blog) that "When I joined, the band didn't have a name. Kim Fowley put together a list of names he thought was catchy. One of them was The Slaughter House Five, a name which got taken off the list when I suggested that a more likely name was Five Easy Pieces! Fortunately, someone came up with the name The Runaways and we were spared from Kim Fowley's list."
Didn't Jackie join in December 1975? It seems odd that they hadn't already settled on a name by that time.

Correct. They played / Demo recorded as the Runaways before Jackie joined.
Laguna, Chill out, ( I always wanted to say that) LOL
I already dealt with it.

haha Hawk.....
Laguna needed to back off many many years ago.
But for whatever reason Laguna is still in full control today as he was in 1979.
