Ok, I'm going to introduce myself, too My name is Sophia & I'm 16 years old (soon 17, well, in around 3 months... ). I was born in Portugal, then moved to Austria & now, I'm here in Germany but would love to be in the USA. I first saw Cherie Currie in the movie 'Foxes' with Jodie Foster around 2 years ago. Then, I began to listen to the music of the Runaways & I love/d it ! Well, that's a short version of everything! Have a nice day everybody!

So since other newbs have introduced here, so why don't I? I'm 12, almost 13 (yeah, I'm pretty young, but I'm old for my age) I'm from CT, and I'm a HUGE fan of The Runaways. My favorite songs are "Cherry Bomb", "Neon Angels on the Road to Ruin", "C'mon", "Hollywood", "Saturday Night Special", and "Queens of Noise".

Oy, where to start?
I've just turned 20 years old, I'm from Alberta, Canada and I've been a fan of The Runaways since middle school, though I hadn't listened to a single bar of their music until I was about 16. Up until then, I had only ever read about them but this was enough to intrigue me. They seemed utterly mythic and glorious in concept. The mere idea of them thrilled my shy, sheltered and lonely adolescent self to no end. I knew I was going to love this band, regardless of the quality of the music I had yet to hear.
Thanks to the advent of Youtube, I was finally able to hear and see The Runaways in action four years after my discovery of them. I was blown away by their talent and stage presence. And I was very happy to find that they weren't some crappy novelty act after all. They were not like the Bay City Rollers in the least. They were for real.
I have their first two albums now and I listen to them whenever I need a pick-me-up for the soul. It's silly of me, but I live vicariously through their songs. Because my teenage years were so tame and boring in comparison. I had the misfortune of being born three decades too late. *sigh*
But never mind that, what matters is that the legacy of The Runaways is made known. These ladies deserve what's due to them.
And in my own small way, I'll make darn sure of that!

Hey punchandpie, I'm an Albertan too! Didja happen to make your way to Edmonton to catch Joan Jett at Capital EX last year?
Also, I'm no veteran myslelf, but welcome to the newbies! Except most of you make me feel old!

There are so many younger fans joining lately. Could this have anything to do with the movie in progress? Or simply fate? Either way it's fan-freaking-tastic.

To insertusernamehere: No, I didn't get to see Ms. Jett. Believe it or not, I've never been to a live concert. Ever. Well, I've watched my uncle and grandpa play country songs at weddings and events like that but I've yet to see anyone as high-profile as Joan onstage...
To rhoknrhol: With the movie coming up, I thought it'd be the best time to join the club. I'd been lurking around this board for the better part of two years, and these past few weeks have been busier than any other time I can recall (barring the announcement of Sandy's passing. R.I.P.). And well, this gave me the push I needed. I want in now. And here I am! Ha!
