Hey everybody, Just wanted to pop by and let everyone know that Dakota Pictures is producing a documentary film, directed by Peter Margolis, on the life of guitarist Randy Rhoads (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne), intended for theatrical release in September 2008. I am generally keeping a very low profile these days, but Randy was a good friend of mine during the Runaways' days so I have filmed an interview for the film. You can see some pictures from the day of the shoot at www.fpath.com/rrforum/showthread.php?t=27(scroll to the bottom of the thread). Randy was an amazing guitarist and a great human being. I encourage you to roam around the forums and check out his work. If you don't know him, it's probably because he died in a plane crash in 1982 while on tour with Ozzy. He was only 25 at the time. Randy's family has given its blessing to this project and the director, Peter, knew Randy personally so it should be a good film. All the best, Jackie

Thanks for the update (and *gorgeous* photos). Randy was such a talented guy and I was blown away by his playing when I first heard it, more than 25 years ago. Please keep us updated regarding release dates, etc. I hope all is wonderful for you, whichever side of the pond you're on these days. ~cc~ www.myspace.com/bassaniapizzicato

I wish I had an update about a release of the film. But I don't know what Dakota Films is doing with it.

Probably legal or funding problems. I've been waiting for years for 'The MC5: A True Testimonial' to get a real release.
Were the Runaways ever billed with Quiet Riot?

Thanks for update the info about the documetary! I did search on google, and found some updates from march of this year (2010). Looks like the documentary is into a "limbo" themetalden.com/index.php?p=12666Anyway I saw the trailer in internet (removed due to director complaint ) and it s really promising. btw. this is a tribute to Randy by Michael Angelo Batio Regards!
