In reading a recent interview with Cherie Currie, She admits that she left the band because they never took a break. I'm sure the drugs didn't help much either. So, Would a break have prevented the end of the Runaways?

Yes, but even if they did take a break & came back 5-10 years later It wouldn't be the same like Joan says.
I think the band ended like they should have according to joan. '' To get back together in your 20-30's would be silly & not the same as being teenagers. We weren't teenagers anymore. We are now adults. The Runaways were teenagers not adults. I don't get how we could call ourselves The Runaways & be adults.
Joan said that in a interview I read a few years ago ......

Nope!! These girls have had a 30 year break from each other and they still hate each other. One or two months wouldn't have helped. Cherie and Lita would be at each other's throats within days.

I think the Runaways came at just the right time in history, the 70s was the decade of revolution for women on a social, political and cultural level. These girls as we all know felt the full force of an incredibly sexist industry, they took the abuse so future generations wouldn't have to fight as hard to get their foot in the door as they did. Also a break wouldn't have derailed the train wreck ahead, the hedonistic rock n roll lifestyle would destroy the best of people, in the girls case they were thrown in the deep end at such a young age and so quickly. Too much, too soon, Neon Angels on the road to ruin for sure.
I'm just blown away by what was written about them in the 70s, Christ how the hell did people get away with writing this stuff, this is from Creem magazine, a review of their Queens of Noise album, "These bitches suck. Despite what the West Coast Blow Job Coordinator might say, they're not any good, they're not so bad they're good, they're not anything. Their only hope for crawling out of the mung heap is making sperms wag their tails and their collective slurp appeal is enough to make your entire body feel like morning mouth." Wow real constructive criticism! PIG!!!

The only break that would have helped was breaking Kim's legs, IMHO
