I think of it like Olympic level gymnasts who win medals then claim their coach was abusive. This is not the Soviet Union. If it was that bad, Cherie had a wealthy life to return to. She stayed because she wanted to. And in Edgeplay it's interesting the break up story is that someone was 2 hours late. Cherie says it was Lita. Lita and Vickie said it was Cherie. At the premier q& a in Portland, Cherie again said she isn't happy with how the Runaways movie portrayed the band breakup. Her words, "If I didn't have my book, I would be a lot angrier."
ah well

Alot of people are really angry with Cherie. when she was doing those Q&A's at the screenings of The Runaways Cherie was very nasty & rude about the other girls including Joan & Lita. for Cherie to say this is her band and that Joan has been performing The Runaways songs for 35 years and it's her time to take it back and perform them is a slap in Joan's face. many people who have been at these Q&A's have told me Cherie did nothing but bitch , moan and complain and blame everyone else and if they wanna know the real truth to buy her book. Thats what people did they bought her book and the movie flopped. If someone asked about the book fine then answer but to hevenly promote your book and talk sh*t about the other members was a slap in their face. Joan & Kenny will wake up one day and smell the coffee how FAKE cherie really is.

I'll bet everyone who was at a book signings also went to the movie. If the movie "flopped" it had nothing to do with Cherie or her book, imo.

it baffles me that Cherie is on Blackhearts' label...for a lot of reasons it baffles me. and that's not to bash Cherie. just doesn't seem like her views gel with Joan's at all on a lot of things. then again, Joan never strikes me as one to hold a grudge, especially where music is concerned.

Well technically Cherie hasn't put anything out on Blackheart Records yet if it ever happens which I hardly doubt but only time will tell. I think the only reason she is on Blackheart or Represented by Blackheart is because of the movie. If she does release a album on Blackheart well then it will baffle me. I'm just waiting for Kenny to open his eyes. I feel drama coming on in the near furture about this.

I think you're right...especially when the movie makes more money in Europe and probably DVD. I've never heard anyone but Cherie say she thought someone deserved to die(Kim). That's just messed up. I'll move on now:)

I read a few rock bios this year, Cherie's being one of them. I enjoyed it, but then a few weeks ago, I read Belinda Carlisle's memoir. Fantastic read and pretty blunt. She blames NO ONE ELSE for her screw ups.

including Joan & Lita. for Cherie to say this is her band and that Joan has been performing The Runaways songs for 35 years and it's her time to take it back and perform them is a slap in Joan's face. Did Cherie really said that?!? C'mon! That's really rude to Joan!!

It was at a Q&A so there is no link it was heard with 2 ears.
But, yes she said it and I have people to back that statement up that was at the Q&A.

If that was the New York signing, I had friends there too.

and I'll back up the general sentiment too because at the Q&A I attended, Cherie was hostile toward the movie even though she participated in it. Same story with Edgeplay. That's all I think we're saying. Only one person's stories and spirit seem to waffle out of all who are talking about The Runaways nowadays.

She said on one of the red carpets too that Joan had been doing the Runaways songs all this time, now it's "my turn"....I bet Cherie was pissed as can be when Joan 'took back' Cherry Bomb in 1984 and made it her own.
