Thanks for sharing that CrimsonJ. I wanted to see too when they suposed to sing Lola and Joan singing in the bathtub Wait for Me Im so sad that the Wait For Me/bathtub scene wasn't in the movie. That would def be my fave scene. I also enjoyed reading the scene with Joan and 'Tammy' making out in the car & Joan says she hopes to be gone (on tour) forever.

I just keep thinking on how awkward the "Love is Pain" bathtub scene was at the end...the acting was fine..but the vocal was forced and really screwed the thing up. "Wait For Me" wouldn't have required Kstew to growl, and could have rang more true.

I still wonder how much sense it would have made to have the shower on all night...a bathroom and an amp...I'd be distracted by all the electrocution thoughts! I like the way they just did a wipe of Kstew on the floor...but it would have been cool to see Joanie in her bedroom, learning riffs, and doing kid things other than making the tee shirt. But i guess that would have added even more fuel to the "Joan and Cherie" movie that people argue over "The Runaways"

I'm so glad you guys are telling me about the 2 different versions of the script in details. I can't believe , I've had these for over a year and not read them. Anything over 3 -4 paragraphs and then I'm done. I never like reading at all. I always skipped over everything and went right for the pictures..... HA !
Anything else interesting in the script ?

nothing else really interesting...just a lot of switched up music choices and such. it got more accurate with Joan and Cherie's input.

"Wait For Me" wouldn't have required Kstew to growl, and could have rang more true. So true, I remember when watching that scene feeling really uncomfortable, cringy really. Bad choice of song 'Wait For Me' would have been a better scene no doubt, the whole Cherie and Joan 'love story' dominated alot of the film which I found ridiculous as they could have worked with so much more of the bands story. What I would have loved to have seen done was their time touring in the UK, the punk crowds, stealing hotel keys, being arrested. Now that would have been a cool way to introduce their time touring and eventually coming round to their time in Japan. Joan crying in her cell, bless her that would have been heartbreaking to see. Less Cherie more Joan and Sandy please Still PO'd with the way Sandy was ignored throughout this movie! Also I thought the original song choices in the early drafts were great such as Young Americans, Lola, Love is Like Oxygen, Children of the Revolution to name a few.

In regards to what they kept in the film Cherie and Marie's scenes were kept pretty much intact also Cherie's dysfunctional family life was as told in her book. In the scripts Joan had more scenes and good ones too that we mentioned before but were cut which was a real shame, scenes also with Joan's lil sis were cute. Funny in the old script Joan after confronting Cherie about the soft porn photo shoot says I hate that f**kin' corset, wasn't it Lita who said in Edgeplay that she always hated that thing? The old script also hinted to Scottie sleeping with Lita not just Cherie as it's portrayed in the movie even though we all know he bonked all the girls except Jackie.
Another funny scene that was cut was when the girls were doing the press stuff in Japan and two girls came up to the girls asking for a lock of their hair and the girls reaction was funny. Joan wanting to cover I Love Rock n Roll asking the girls what they thought was cut too. Also Sandy had left more of an input in the original script, her scenes with Joan and Cherie were funny, would have liked to seen em in the movie. Ah well what could have been.
