Paul - Very sad news. Greg added amazing energy to the Sandy West Band and when we did the interview with all you guys at your studio (now there is even more reason for me to get that interview edited), Greg had some great insight into rock music, in general. The one statement he made that I quote often was in regard to the Rolling Stones and how "they were so bad that they were great" Another loss that is, in my world, tied to this: Bill Hartew, longtime producer of KLOS's local show, who introduced me to Sandy and the rest of the band, passed away last month as well. Bill was a great friend to local musicians and I'm a little saddened that there hasn't even been a mention of his passing in any local music publications or websites that I have seen. Not to be too morbid, but how are you feeling Paul? Let's hope this is the end of the bad news for a while. Mike Stark mikestark.net

Paul -
I'm upset that I can't make the tribute tonight, but it sparked me to think that the "tributes" shouldn't stop tonight.
I'd like to have you and whoever else we can gather, do my weekly live Internet show on WPMD.org. I'd like to do a two hour tribute to Sandy and her work with the Runaways and with the Sandy West Band. I'd love to see you again and this would give us a good excuse. We should plan something, at your conveniences, after the first of the year. I do a monthly "UNsigned" show and a show with Sabbath drummer Bill Ward that covers two of the Saturday's every month, but that always leaves two Saturdays to do stuff like that. I could play stuff from the interview we did back in the day AND you could provide your prospective on Sandy. AND if we could get some others to join us (maybe our wonderful host here at TheRunaways.com, or other band members), it could be a real sweet radio tribute that we'd be able to have with us from now on.
Give it some thought and let me know.

hello Mike that would be an amazing thing, maybe you could get a whole bunch of Sandy West friends etc and make this an interview to make the ultimate Sandy West Tribute, I am sure most of the Great people who went to Sandy's Tribute who be up for that , and have stories to tell, Put me down for that, let me know when you want to do it I for one will be there, I will start going through some stuff I have to bring with me. The Memorial was great the Artists were fantastic Carmine did an Amazing Drummer Tribute, Katt Lowe was Awesome and I talked with Sandy's Sister who was such a great soul, she is so much like Sandy, anyway Last Night was really Great ,Glad I went. Thanks Mike , let me know when you get the plans together, and I will be there. Paul Hone SWB
