Thanks Frank! I don't generally have 100% faith in Rolling Stone and I found it interesting that they report the name of the film as CHERRY BOMB but, who knows, they may know something I don't know. As far as I've heard, otherwise, the movie will be entitled THE RUNAWAYS. We'll see, eh?!?! Gus

Well, I'm glad they're actually casting, but I don't know about this decision. The only way they could have found someone who looked less like Lita would be if they had cast a 60 year old black male. Hmm. She can't even play guitar. Wonder why she got the part?

I didn't even notice that, Gus! I am getting DOTTY as i get older; "Cherry Bomb" could be a cool title as well, I guess. Insertuser, i thought she kind of did look like Lita! I did see that she didn't play, however. I really thought the Sandy actress was a bit of a step, but who knows- Only the bassist left!

It looks like lip-syncing will be used, a lot, and Allesandra says she plays a mean air guitar! LOL! Seriously though, I believe the role of Lita, in the film, will be a supporting role, as opposed to a lead role, with the movie centering on the friendship between Cherie and Joan, so I'm assumng that the casting director figured Allesandra could pull it off, as Lita! Time will tell, for sure! Gus

LIke MOST actors/actresses playing musicians, they prob will NOT show or focus on the hands and fingers on the fretboard of the guitar.
Remember this is a MOVIE.
Val Kilmer did not sing in the movie "THE DOORS".
However, Joaquin Phoenix DID sing in "Walk the Line".
JOan is the Executive Producer, I HIGHLY DOUBT she will ALLOW this to come across as Cheesy or Poorly done.
Speculating is fun and all, but, the filming starts next week, so let's hope this gives the history and memory of the band justice.

Sorry but Val did sing all the live parts in The Doors. I have that movie and I have watched it a millions times including Oliver's director's comments. He did sing! Val has sang in other movies too.
Btw: Kristen and Dakota can both sing and have been taken vocal lessons. I'm pretty sure they will both sing in this movie. Don't know how much but looking at a copy of the script there are moments when it is vital to the movie where there can be no lipsyncing in a particular scene.
