I know what you mean Lory. I try to show no bias when I run these "favorite song" polls. In actuality, this is my least favorite Runaways album. To me, the Fab Five were the Runaways. Waiting For The Night, is an excellent album but kind of like the Stones, without Mick, imo! Gotta have Cherie, if you ask me, for a Runaways album to really be!!! [glow=red,2,300]Gus[/glow]

Well if that is how you really feel why would you do a poll for And Now The Runaway's rather than one of the earlier albums?
Everybody is going to have a favorite, but to me if you are really a fan of the band and not just one member, you can have an appreciation for all the albums. Each and every Runaways album has it's own character and high points. I think all of the members contributed to the band and I would never single out one member and say it's not a Runaways album unless they are on it. I love them all.

Waiting For The Night is not my favorite either - brilliant album, great riffs, love them all...but to me the very first album is absolutely the best! It does not matter that it took less than three weeks to record and cut, it has got that raw edge and instant power that makes it really unique, true rock n roll appeal. That's just my personal opinion, of course...

Hi Gus I am very glad to see that I am not the noly one thinking that The Runaways wihout Cherie and Jackie are something else - yes indeed, mate! You got to have Cherie Currie!! Once again, what a pity....as Sandy West said on Edgeplay, they should have never broke up.... Lory xx

There are a million woulda, coulda, shoulda's, but the fact remains that if the Runaways hadn't broken up there may have never been solo careers for Joan Jett and Lita Ford. Everything happens for a reason. I'll never understand why Sandy didn't play with Joan or Lita's bands.
That may be your opinion but the facts are that the Runaways played many more live shows without Cherie and Jackie than with them. To say that they were something else makes the band less than they were IMHO.

Dagtoking1
That's indeed my opinion - I respect everybody's opinion half as much as I stick to my own choices.
So to me as well as to others, The Runaways without Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox were not the same, were something else.
Having said that I very much enjoy the core band members' music style, I just don't think Vickie Blue and Laurie McAllister were fitting in nor lack of a proper front person like Cherie was a good choice.
Personal point of view.
Kind regards,
Lory

Easy answer! I already did those polls! LOL! This is the 5th in the series! I do have an appreciation of all of The Runaways albums. In my opinion (which I am entitled too) the band was better as the Fab Five just like the Stones are better with Mick! Nothing against Keith. I love him! BTW, your posts, elsewhere, prove that you don't love all of the members. Your comments about Cherie are always quite derogatory! Some things never change! Gus

Gus, I don't appreciate the personal attack. This is a fan discussion about the Runaways and you should stick to the discussion. You are not going to bait me into a flame war here.
I will say this however. While Cherie may not be my favorite member of the Runaways, I think she was great in the band. You only have to watch any of the videos to see that. I never said Cherie wasn't good in the band or didn't contribute to what is the Runaways. I have an appreciation for all the members and all the albums. Just my opinion (WHICH I AM ENTITLED TO).

It wasn't a personal attack Dagtoking. It was an opinion. You are not the only one entitled to have one. If you don't want people to know the things you say, I suggest you don't say those things on a public forum.
Once this poll was over, Lory and I expressed an opinion that you disagreed with. We were then repeatedly treated by you, as if our opinions were wrong and only your way of thinking was right.
Why people should always have to defend their opinions with you, is beyond me anyway. Who diied and made you king?
Frankly, I am tired of watching my words, so as to not set you off. Why can't you just enjoy the give and take and quit being so anal!
Gus

"It wasn't a personal attack Dagtoking. It was an opinion. "
Don't try to justify your actions now by hiding behind "it's only an opinion." When you single someone out and say uncomplimentary things it is a personal attack, not an opinion Gus.
I never said your opinion or Lory's for that matter wasn't valid, I merely continued the discussion by bringing up other avenues of thought. If you can't handle any discussion about the band deeper than "Cherie is the greatest thing since sliced bread" perhaps you shouldn't participate.
Discussion on message boards is just that, discussion. It's not making a statement and that's it. I am sorry you feel you have to defend your opinion if someone offers a different one. It's called discussing the band Gus. You shouldn't take things so personal or you'll end up with an ulcer.

Be careful here Dag, if you disagree with Gus, you'll likely be banned....and you'll never get to vote in one of the many WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG ON (fill in album name here) topic!

You're right Dagtoking. I should just be quiet because what seems to me to be badgering or lecturing by you, is merely normal discussion about The Runaways.
Thanks for the input Skunkboy. Obsequious as always!
Like I sometimes say, it's better to be humble, than to pontificate and bumble!

Gus, I do not wish to argue with you here. Look what has happened to this thread because of it. You have my email address so if there is something you would like to say use it. Let's just all appreciate this wonderful new board and enjoy it. We all love the Runaways so can't we just try and limit the discussion to our opinions about the band? It's a new year so why don't we all just try and make a fresh start? I know that's what I would like to do.
