Since opening the MySpace for therunaways.com, I've gotten loads of bulletins from friends that they never sent. Hence this post. Essentially, morons are using javascript and other little goodies to force interesting things to happen in order to steal your MySpace id and password. They then use that info to post spam in your name and sometimes links to viruses. If you post a comment, picture, blog or anything else on MySpace and a window pops up saying you need to be logged in, DO NOT LOG IN!! Either bookmark the page you were on or copy the url so you can go back to it, then point your browser directly to www.myspace.com and log in there. Otherwise you are most likely handing your info over to nasty little hacker with bad intentions. You might also want to email MySpace with the link to the page that you were on when you were asked to log in so they can check it out. It's also a good idea to change your password fairly often regardless. Here is a good link to learn more about the wonderful practice of "phishing" (sarcasm fully intended): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing
