Who was the latin pop star she fell in,love with, but also doesn't name?
"I re-wrote this book so this time I can name names"...or not.

Whoever it is was 7 years older than her, I think Tony Orlando is older than that.

The "latin singer" could be Morris Albert, the guy who had the gigantic hit song "Feelings". He was native Brazilian despite the anglicized name, born in 1951, a bit overweight, had shoulder-length curly dark hair, frequently wore white suits, and had a huge MOR hit in 1976. Seems to fit the clues Cherie gives us in the book...

It was Ricky Martin. Do you think she knows Menudo broke up? ;D I doubt it was him. He'd be more interested in her brother - if she had one.

I'm reading "wake up, I'm fat!" by Camryn Manheim, and she mentions something called "Roshomon". It means "through our own eyes, we see what we see". Interesting philosophy, I love that idea. That said, I'd love to hear the other Runaways' visions of that period. It's so fascinating, albeit brief, to read Joan's POV in the Oldham book. "Rashomon" is a film by Akira Kurosawa, about a murder seen by multiple witnesses, each of whom tells a very different story. Yeah, it's funny how humans do that. Does Cherie talk about her b-movie actress mom, Marie Harmon? I saw one of her films recently. You can definitely see some resemblance.

It's #6 on the NY Times best seller list so it should be around. Did you try Borders?
