Maybe this new version could be a hit single. With those twilight freak fans....Anything is possible.

Not to stray off the original topic here, but I was aware that Nigel Harrison played bass on the first album. Any other musicians that played or sang on any of the other albums? (Besides Duane Hitchings on 'And Now The Runaways'>)

Sal Maida played bass on the Waiting For The Night album per Kim Fowley and I remember Vicky saying in edgeplay that Lita played the bass tracks for And Now The Runaways.

Yes VICKI. Sorry, my sister spells it the other way so I have to remind myself. My understanding is that Vicki only played on the title track of the WFTN album. What can you tell me about Duane Hitchings? I like to be correctly informed.

Duane Hitchings was with Rod Stewart's band. I think he co-wrote the song 'Young Turks' (or Tirks). I also heard that it was while he was doing keyboards for ANTR album that he introduced Laurie McAlister to the rest of the band when Vicki left. Could someone refresh my memory as to why Jackie didn't play on the first album? In Edgeplay she states that Kim Fowley kicked her out of the studio. But seems like she said on her website, years ago, that it actually had something to do with Cherie. (It's been a while -- maybe I dreamed it!)

My understanding is that Jackie came to audition as a guitarist but they were no longer looking for one. They offered her the bass player position but since she wasn't proficient on the instrument yet they needed a studio musician to play bass on the debut album. Thanks for the info about Duane Hitchings.

Here's a link to a preview for the whole album: www.spinner.com/new-releases#/2I don't like how Dakota sounds either, too nasal. Kristen's slightly better and sounds cooler, but still very far from the original.

Dakota's voice sounds really pop. But a least she tried her best. And Kristen, I was really nervous how she was going to sing but I'm really suprised that she sings really good...

One of the most enjoyable parts of that ride for Cherie was having the chance to get back in the studio with Joan to re-create The Runaways’ music for the film. “We really had a treat with this movie because we hadn’t been in a studio together since 1977,” she says. “I didn’t realize how good that band was until the last ten years. It was a roller coaster that just didn’t end. I didn’t have a chance to breathe and look at what we were really doing. If I even had a clue of what this band would end up being 30-plus years later, I would have taken it a lot more seriously, as far as staying together, and trying to work through our differences. But everyone was pitting us against each other, keeping us on edge all the time. We never had a fighting chance.” www.kenphillipsgroup.com/Phillips/currie.htm

Here's Dead End Justice, California Paradise and Queens of Noise. I think they're pretty good for not being professional singers.
