It's hard to know with any certainty what someone who was so passionate about the band would do. I think Sandy would think this whole Robin thing is rediculous but I do agree she would have participated; the masturbation scene would have been cut. There is an interesting topic about the Runaways on the Jett board right now about the turmoil between the band mates and what it has done to the band's legacy, etc. Anyhow, Gus is in high gear as you can imagine posting bad things about this board and the people who post here. I have enjoyed the Jett board for years and still enjoy reading/posting there, so I don't like having to defend this board which I also enjoy. He's just a jerk but it's still annoying. Why don't you just try contacting Flora to find out why she put that scene in the film. As is coming to light, Cherie and Joan had a lot less control of this film than most of us thought.

it's hard to believe seeing one has a credit as EXECUTIVE PPRODUCER and was on the set daily. in movie heirarchy the producer is in charge of the director ( can fire or replace if necessary) , not the other way around.

The flick was going to be made whether Cherie and Joan were involved. It's reasonable to think they weren't approving/disapproving scenes.

quite possibly, but if I was a multi millionaire with an astute business partner, and strangers with no film experience were making a low budget indie film about a personal topic I hold dearly (The Runaways), upon being offered a partnership, I would have had written into the contract that I get final say, otherwise I walk away, and then what do they have? nothing but a low budget indie flick made by people with no film experience and NO actual band member support....which movie, would have a better chance at being successful?

Maybe Joan and Cherie didn't object to certain scenes because they happened, and/or they know Sandy a little better than anyone on this board and believe/know she wouldn't have a problem with those scenes.

He could be the most creepy "fan" ever. He has just about every post that every person has ever posted on any board about Cherie. Quite freaky.

Cherie is still close to Sandy's mom, i am quite sure she discussed it with her. Joan and Cherie loved Sandy... they wouldn't do anything to dishonor her. Why is masterbation bad? Teenagers do it
But thats JMO

I remember reading a review of the movie at Sundance, this particular critic thought that scene was too soon because the inspiration was Farrah, but perhaps they will change it. Hopefully not, as she was such an iconic pin-up of that era, plus that scene was pretty funny in the script I read. There's no need to be prudish about this, its part of growing-up.

What's funny about Sandy masturbating in the bathroom? Or am I missing something?

The way it was set-up was well done, there was nothing perverse about it, maybe it's just my twisted sense of humour but I thought that was a pretty funny scene.

If anyone is gonna see it first it will be you guys in the States, the rest of us may or may not have to wait a little while longer to see it. I read rough drafts of the script, that scene was written well, it was a humourous conversation between Joan and Sandy. I'm not easily shocked, such a scene didn't annoy or bother me. I have no hang-ups about it.
