Yea, since Joan sings I LOVE PLAYIN WITH FIRE over and over in the chorus, it's an easy mistake...duh.

The set list changes is not really new. Joan has been opening with Change The World or Cherry Bomb off & on for at least 3 years that I know of at shows I have attended. The Runaways tunes have also been in the set list for a few year which I absolutely love. I thought , I would never hear Joan perform any Runaways tunes LIVE except Cherry Bomb. I'm very happy that The Runaways tunes are in the set list. The older Blackheart songs are the ones I have a problem with. Fake Friends & The French Song are ok in the set list I suppose but it's not like they weren't in the set list in the 2000's . Backstabbed of course I have a problem with that one It's the worst song ever to me to hear LIVE along with The Sweet Life. If others like it well congrats. Naked can also be dropped from the set list along with Light of Day , Everyday People & ACDC. I was happy when Riddles, Wild Child & MTM whas dropped. IMO - since Joan is promoting the New - Greatest Hits CD, I agree with Paulina why not bring back songs like Activity Grrrl or ( I'm Gonna ) Runaway to the current set list? Mix up the set list for different cities with songs from the New - Greatest Hits CD . Don't you agree ? That would make it exciting to see what song The Blackhearts would perform in your city or town. That would make me and other fans be more excited for a show then expecting the same old set list. It's time for a big change in the set list. Many bands do that mix up the set list everynight which makes it exciting & not boring for them or the fans I guess since Joan & Kenny are much older now they are stuck in their ways like older people are.

I was told by someone it was her finger & wrist not her shoulder who was backstage & talked to Kenny about it after it happened.
I may be wrong but thats what he told me.
I forget what disease the Doctor actually called it what Joan's doctor said in a interview & I never looked it up to research it .

ah ok. just wondering if that could be why some songs aren't played(I'm an occupational therapist and a guitar player, making me very curious). Five has some really wacky spreads, though; so I could be way off base. Hand/wrist makes more sense in terms of repetitive use type injuries. If I get to meet her at any shows I go to this summer, I'll ask.

She was jumping around in the beginning a bit,, I've seen some other videos of the show and from what I remember it looked like it really started to bother her at the end of the show. It appeared that Kenny repeatedly came over and had conversations with her throughout the show to check on her, she was flexing her leg quite a bit about halfway through. She played "Five" in March when I saw her so I think some songs get cut so others get in. I would rather "Naked" get cut than "Five" and "Adrog" I could live without. I would love "I'm Gonna Runaway" and I'd rather see "Spinster" or "Go Home". I saw all of Pure and Simple in the 90's and I loved them all live. I would love to see "Dog" brought back. To each their own with the set list we all have our favorites. I've seen "LOD" countless times live and I never get sick of it.

I have to totally agree with you about everything you said above . Androgy can also be dropped from the set list & Naked & leave in ''FIVE''. I have also seen Joan perform everything off of Pure & Simple in the 90's except ''Brighter Day' . I have never even seen a boot of that song LIVE but all the others from PURE & SIMPLE - I have seen live and they all sounded wonderful.
I was just listening to a LIVE boot today from minneapolis from Pure & Simple. ''Spinster'' was a killer opening & The encore was ''Here to Stay & Bad Rep''. It also has Go Home, Torture & Consumed , Eye to Eye were also on there and sounded great. I would love to hear some of those come back. Pure & Simple is a fantastic album.
''DOG '' ( bark for me little doggies) - should most definitely hands down be the most requested song by jettheads to bring back .
I AGREE !!!!

One of these days I will get brave enough to ask a long-term Jetthead about how to get me some bootlegs. I love her most live from the youtube plethora available; and the 1982-1998 era was my fave mix thus far setlist-wise.
I have only musicians like Ani Difranco, Melissa Ferrick, and Tegan and Sara(pre 2006) to trade. Not banking on anyone giving up any Joanie boots for that:)
After seeing the Germany concert video(1982? ish) I am HUNGRY for some older live audios.
/new Jetthead wishlist free associating:)

I think "Brighter Day" appeared at one show I was at and I never saw it done again. Same thing with "Get Off The Cross" and "Personality Crisis", only saw them done once and they were gone like yesterday's news. I don't know why, the crowd loved them both.

Get off the Cross , I only heard at soundcheck but not during the show. Personality Crisis , I never heard LIVE at all. I know she did it back in 2003 -2004 at a few shows but not at any of the ones I attended .....
There are two songs that come to mind that I heard LIVE that are very rare Joan performed. One is '' I'll Be There For You'' - The Friends Theme song by The Rembrandts. I only seen Joan do this in Kissimmee, Florida at Walt Disney World in Downtown Disney at Pleasure Island. I know they talked about it on the Joan board. That was a kick ass night cause I saw Godsmack , The B-52'S & Joan Jett & The Blackhearts all in one night for New Years Eve.
The other song , I could never remember the song. I think it had the words LOVE in it . I believe Kathleen Warknock was talking about it years ago on the Joan board , I believe it was her but I may be wrong. It's a very rare song Joan has performed maybe once or twice but I never heard it again. It was in the mid 90's. This song has been a mystery for years .......
I know EVERY SONG joan has ever done live or released and its none that we know of !

someone asked about Kenny & Meryl are they back together ?
I remember seeing a pdf file of the D-I-V-O-R-C-E papers like 5-6 years ago that was going around on the Joan board. so if they are back together or not who really knows. I've heard stories that Meryl didn't even attend her daughters wedding cause Kenny was there.
Is all this really true or not ?
don't really know, don't really care

I guess I am one of the few that still loves Light of Day and doesn't want it out of the set list. I wouldn't mind it if they axed Fetish or Change the World; not my favorites.
It appears Meryl and Kenny are still happily married.
BTW, I was also at that Pleasure Island show. That was a great one.
Hey Blackmail, we really had fun didn't we? I was surprised that I got an all access pass; I appreciated the gesture. But then I went to the VIP area and drank for the whole show so I didn't get to hang out up front with you guys. It would have been more interesting being up front; between Joan getting hurt and the drunk lesbian passing out it sounds like I missed alot, LOL.

I seen Joan at Pleasure Island 2 different times for New Years the first time was in 1997. I was in DRAG wearing A Black Gothic Dress. Thats when all the Jettheads from the old Joan Jett board came down from New York & PA for the show and we were all doing jello shots. The old Joan board from the mid- late 90's use to be really cool Jettheads. Joan's board has gone to hell with the people over there now. That night at Pleasure Island is the night I also peed on this guy cause I refused to give up my spot in front of the stage.
SURE DID !
The Blackhearts came up to me after the show and asked me for party favors. If you know what I mean. I don't party like that. Dougie was not in the band at this time this way in 1997 . It was some random guitar player I have pixs of him & Sean Koos & Thommy.
I remember this show well cause my friend & I drove from Albq, NM all the way to Florida to Walt Disney World for New Years to see Joan perform. The next day we drove to Miami cause Joan was playing the following day at Gulf Stream Park in Hallandale , Florida. That was a early show like at 2 pm. They had a Joan Jett -Trivia c Contest & Iwas one of the one choosen to go on stage for the contest . Child Please ! You , Know I walked away the WINNER & with $100 in my pocket.
After that show we drove from Miami to Atlanta for one day then drove to the 9:30 club in DC to see Joan with Sexpod & The Lunachicks. Joan was decked out in her leather hat , whip & gloves standing over the stage watching Sexpod perform. Joan in total Leather gear including Leather Chaps.
oh yes she did !
We did all this driving in one week from New Mexico - Orlando - Miami - Atlanta - DC then back to Atlanta then back to Albq , NM. We were on the road the entire week but those days of traveling use to be fun. I don't like to travel much anymore within a 4-6 hour drive max !
BTW- Joan didn't perform '' I'll Be There For You '' at Pleasure Island in 1997. It was at the Pleasure Island show in 2002 I attended. It rained during the show.
