I Like the picture, it looks kinda 'unprofessional' with strange lighting. Looks like a fan made it. The order of the girls is probably coincidental but I can live with it. Hey, didn't Sandy, Joan and Lita do the most 'Runaway-time' ?

In this month's issue of Hot Press which is an Irish music magazine they talked about newly released compilation CD's. "The Runaways: Mercury Albums- They may have been manufactured by pop Svengali Kim Fowley as an American riposte to the Sex Pistols, but The Runaways succeeded in making a fearsome rock 'n' roll noise that Courtney Love and Brode Dalle have both cited as one of the main reasons for them picking up a guitar. Almost 35 years on, the likes of 'Cherry Bomb', 'You Drive Me Wild' and 'Queens of Noise' still bristle with adolescent anger, and augur well for the new Runaways biopic, which will be hitting these shores during the summer. (Hooray ;D) With Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning among the star turns, there could be considerable interest in this 42-track plundering of the vaults." Hot Press also talks about how happy they are to see Joan coming to Ireland during the summer, feel sick that I can't catch that gig, too many great gigs in one month!

They may have been manufactured by pop Svengali Kim Fowley as an American riposte to the Sex Pistols, off we go again, with comparisons to the sex pistols! they were nothing like the pistols, they were hard rock not punk, & they weren't manufactured either!

Thank you! I thought nobody would ever get that.
Anyway, I'm glad they came out with the Anthology, but I already have most of the songs anyway.

The Sex Pistols quote is especially ignorant because John Lydon joined the Pistols in August 1975, the same month Joan and Sandy met and formed the Runaways.

The Anthology is great, any fan should have it. Only problem I have with it is that C'MON, the studio version, isn't on there and should be since it appears on THE BEST OF THE RUNAWAYS also on Mercury.

Poor Cherie. I love Joan and her cigarette. I totally want to buy this. But I have half of the songs already. Meh.

I've been reading these boards for a long time and I am curious why you think that is Jen? Jen isn't an 18 year old male. You know what they say about assuming and why you should not do it.

And I only have one screen name on here....thought I'd save whoever that person is the headache and straight up say...it's NOT me, and I don't even own half of the Runaways catalog. It's not all my style of music....and I don't see an issue with that. Peace

Finally caved in and ordered it. Did they put the fart back in at the top of "Gotta Get Out Tonight"?

This is the only thing , I don't have. I didn't bother to order it when it came out cause , I was just tired of re-issues. I never bought any of the blackhearts re-issues after 1998. I bought them in 1993 & 1998 & wasn't about to buy them again for one or 2 songs. Maybe one day I will brake down and get The Runaways Anthology. I have all this anyway on vinyl , cassette & CD.
I was fortunate to get The Joan Jett Book , Cherie Currie's Book . The Runaways Soundtrack , The Runaways Movie Poster & Joan Jett's - Greatest Hits CD ALL FOR FREE !
Those online contest, giveaways & sweepstakes really do pay off & saved me alot of $$$$$

Yeah, the 'raspberry' is back in GOTTA GET OUT TONIGHT
How are the Runaways not your kind of music when u are so into Joan Jett and know sooo much about her? Her solo stuff is not that far removed from The Runaways. Just curious JenJen.

I think it's probably just a matter of taste. Not all the Runaways music sounds like Jett's solo stuff which is so much more heavily produced.
