How many albums a band sold is not relevant to the Hall. Those in charge do not like The Runaways, period. That's all that matters up there. You'd need a change in management most likely before they were ever even considered for inclusion.

The first all girl band that will be inducted probably will be the Go-Gos. If that happens it would be cool if Belinda Carlisle or someone from the band gave The Runaways their props while giving their accepting speech. Might be the only way they are even mentioned at the hall.

I really haven't even followed that close over the years anyone that had been inducted. Someone mentioned that the Runaways didn't sell that many records and that is ONE reason they may not be inducted. Does anyone know...has there been any band that has been inducted that had sold the same amount of records The Runaways did? Did the Stooges sell a lot more records than The Runaways, I'm sure they did, just trying to compare their record sells with someone else. The Stooges probably sold FEWER records than the Runaways, but so many bands have listed the Stooges as an influence (and the critics liked them too) that they were bound to get in. I'm amazed that Black Sabbath was inducted because the critics used to despise them too (one * for each album in the old Rolling Stone Record Guide). Only when a younger generation of music writers appeared did the band start getting some respect.

Give it up people. If it happens, cool, if not move on. Joan ha loaned stuff to them, so she and Kenny must not be too mad.

Black Sabbath (which I love) have been inducted only when they became part of the Ozzy/Sony franchise. It's just about the big corporations in this business. The Runaways have been just as influential, but no big cheese to back them up. Same with Deep Purple, I remember them (and other bands) mentioned in Metallica's speech as bands that influenced them, and were not in this Hall Of Fame.
