I picked the five main albums ignoring the compilations. Would like to know which one you think is best

I picked the first one for a combination of both songs quality and sound. Live In Japan comes as a close second though, tough choice.

Ya I would be about the same, Live In Japan is my ultimate fav, it has a nice mixture plus the caliber of the girls live is remarkable. Then followed by the self-titled first album and then Waitin' For the Night

Ya 'Flaming School Girls' is a good compilation but my fav would have to be the 'Best of The Runaways' because it has a few of their live recordings in there plus a few numbers from 'Waitin' for the Night' a great album, a few from 'Queens of Noise' and of course a few from the self- titled first album. A nice mix, most of my fav songs are on this compilation A good album to look into if you wanna introduce a friend to the band.

My own custom CD of Live in Japan, where I added the four live tracks from Flaming Schoolgirls. ;D
I don't know what's wrong with this forum; 74 people have looked at this thread, 4 people have voted in the poll.

Kind of hard to compare a live album to a studio album though.

"Waitin' for the Night" with "Queens of Noise" second.

That's interesting you go for the later sound, Waitin' For the Night is a great album

If I could only have one Runaways album it would have to be The Runaways.

You have to admit Kim Fowley did a good job producing the debut album, with its live-in-the-studio sound.

I think Queens of Noise is, by far, the best album. It has some of the best songs. I like the fact that about half are sung my Cherie and the other half by Joan; it helps give a little bit more variation to the sound. Also think it was the best produced (although I think And Now The Runways comes a close second to production. Sandy's drums really thud!).

I think Queens of Noise was a little bit overproduced, though otherwise it's a great album. They were trying to make them sound like Slade or Sweet.
