It makes me sick to think that anyone would try to hurt Lita Ford. There are all these negative reviews of the CD in iTunes already and as I was looking at them my gut told me they were all fakes, written by the same person. It seemed to me that someone was doing some bashing while the CD was brand new (and would be most likely to sell) and I reported some of the reviews to iTunes (like that helps). I've heard before that Lita achieved success because of Joan, but is that really true? She was a guitar prodigy (the leads while she was 17/18 amaze me) and the music biz knew who she was because of The Runaways. What did Joan have to do with it? (Lita's success). That Blackheart management sh*t really bugs me. Anyway, I'm glad Lita seems to have an amazing marriage/family(/sex life!) And her new CD is great. And if that crap is true about Joan's management team, well- karma is a boomerang.

I was refering to the fact that when Joan became famous, it opened a door for Lita to be signed to Mercury. You know, a girl playing guitar from the Runaways had a hit, let's find the others! She even admitted to that. Cherie probably could have got a deal at that time too, but, she probably was in no shape for that.

Right, i totally agree. My feeling is that (in reference to the blackheart beef getting ruffled about it) who's to say that she wouldn't have eventually broken through on her own? Don't get me wrong, obviously the "let's find another Runaway" mentality is spot on true, but LIta was an amazing musician. (then again, so was Sandy - so yes, the music business if f*cked up and Joan opened a door). But what's with the hostility over it? I would think that one band member who hits after the fact would TOTALLY lend a helping hand to another band member that helped to "CHANGE THE WORLD" as the unmentioned has stated they did. As I've stated before over the years, I have always brought friends in to my agents to try and help them get some representation, and friends have done the same for me. I don't get it. How does having another successful Runaway hurt your world? (Not to mention the Sandy West situation - granted, i totally don't know the behind the scenes, but no one could throw her a bone and use her as a session musician even?) Sorry for the off topic rant...

Also for someone who always stated how there weren't that many other women guitar players out there and wanted to see more, why you you begrudge Lita when she is doing it? I don't think Lita's career is any more a threat to her former bandmate than say Pat Benatar or Heart or The Pretenders. All were able to achieve hits and success. I just think it is sad if he/she is still trying to mess with Lita. Like Vicki said (more or less), focus on your own artist. Maybe get her to work on some new music.
I always wondered why no one ever gave Sandy a chance either in the studio or in their band. She was great.

I've got a real strong suspicion as to who is involved in this.
Listening to the Blackhearts perform the Runaways songs just isn't the same; I have not heard them live only from boots but there is no comparison to the Runaways versions. The Blackhearts versions are still enjoyable, but Lita's playing in the Runaways was maybe the best lead guitar I've ever heard.

Lita's guitar playing outshines Joan hands down. Maybe jealousy is involved? That being said from what I've heard of Lita's new material...not my cup of tea....her guitar work is great as well as her vocals but I can't take the other flotsam involved.

Lita's New Album is AWESOME!
I really like it.
The only thing I have noticed is that Lita now sucks as a guitar player.she can't play like she use to. I have seen alot of video over the past year & Lita doesn't even play guitar at all or she has someone else playing lead.....
So , Joan WINS this one hands down!

How can you compare Joan to Lita as far as guitar playing? It's like comparing an apple to an orange. Joan doesn't play lead unless you count that short little thing she does during Everyday People or her "rhythm lead" in Rocky Horror.

I agree with smokingfools.
Lita plays VERY LITTLE lead guitar now days. she said in recent interviews she hasn't played her guitar in many years.Like - I said, I have seen alot of bootleg video over the past year and Lita plays very little guitar.Alot of the songs someone else plays and Lita doesn't even play at all.Have you seen some of the recent video of Lita with Queensryche? Why is Queensryche playing lead on Lita's songs? Can't Lita play lead on her on d@mn songs?"
Love you LITA but your guitar skills are not like they were back in the day!!!!

I hate to burst your bubble but, 50 year old fingers don't move as quickly as 18 year old ones. It's been scientifically proven. Just ask Clapton.
