Looking through the vast collection of music DVD's at Best Buy yesterday I couldn't help wish that there was a collection of the better quality Runaways videos and/or performance footage available for fans. How great would that be? There are so many obscure groups with music DVD's it seems a shame that there isn't anything Runaways available. It's also sad that you can't walk into a store as big as Best Buy that sells CD's and find a single Runaways CD, although they did have a nice little section with Joan's Sinner in it I was happy to see.
Unrelated, but I had to literally search for the Pretenders section where they only had one (1) CD, and of course I put it in the front, lol.

I'm fairly sure Cherry Red, being an overseas label, doesn't have any official US distribution. That would put an immediate halt to having the cds in stores here, which would definitely be great. I remember when I first got into the band, going to Hastings to pick up Pure and Simple (albeit a little late) and stumbling across The Runaways and Best Of. Luckily we can offer them on Amazon at least for now.
Feel fortunate you're not in my area of Arkansas. Our Wal-Mart will not carry Sinner, or most other cds I'd want for that matter. And the Best Buy here is so reprehensible with customer service 90% of the time we never go to see what they have. Your comment made me laugh though, I must admit - when Lita's live cd came out I made sure some of the locals started carrying it, and every Sunday when I went shopping I went through the stacks and pushed it to the front. Ahhhh memories.

Hi there I live in UK and I can confirm that the entire Runaways albums collection, all of them, is available on CD at any on line and off line stores (Virgin, HMV, etc). My goodness! I was thinking of going to the USA and check out the record\CD situation as far as our lovely Runaways are concerned, but I guess I should be happy with what we can find here in England! However I have to say that I cannot find much on Joan Jett. A bit disappointing. Lory

I don't know about the UK but here in the US we have those used cd stores; stores that sell pre-owned cd's. I often see odd Jett cd's around. Mostly Pure and Simple and Notorious, but you can find them. I don't know why Joan's cd's are so scarce. A cd like GROAMY can cost over $45.00 if you buy it online. I hope anyone who didn't have them all picked them up last month when David Snowden had that sale which was a pretty good deal.

Hi Dagtoking
There are similar CD\vinyl stores in UK as well, in fact only through these kind of jumble sales shops I found the American print "I Love Rock N Roll" album on vinyl....and a few years ago I bought the original first Runaways album, on vinyl too.
Shortages affect high street stores and chains like that dreadful Virgin Megastore which in London has taken over my favorite, Tower Records...
Thanks for the info mate!

Hey Lory, off topic I know (sorry) but Tony Blair is here on vacation in my home town with his family. Is this getting news coverage there? Everybody is thrilled to have him here and they are going into restaurants and talking to the people around them; very friendly and personable people.

Hi Dagtoking
Is there anything flame-peppery and super hot out of local gastronomy that can be served to the Blairs? Not necessarily orally, dear!
;-))))
Just kidding...almost.
Yes it has been reported on the UK media.

My UK friends compare Blair to Bush - so obviously they hate them both as well. ;D
